What We Do

The primary focus of PNCT is to support and assist members cancer patients with a need for supplies or consumables, treatment and access to palliative care but are unable to afford. Often medical aid companies do not cover the huge expenses or individuals are unable to afford hospital bills and they end up facing a huge financial strain. Our products and services address prevention, awareness, early diagnosis and treatment of cancer thereby enhancing well-being and quality of life of those affected and their families. Our presence reinforces an ability to offer our services countrywide and to anticipate needs.

With our 5 member board of trustees, we are endeavoring to support those in need, with the hope of making it a difference. Cancer is a disease of vast complexity and its burden continue to rise nationally and globally, however  in recent years, understanding of the disease has improved markedly and significant medical advances have been made through ongoing research . This creates exciting opportunities to develop new prevention, diagnostic and treatment and supportive therapies approaches that will have a positive profound impact on those living with the disease.

Our donors give generously in the expectation that we will take advantage of these opportunities, delivering benefits for patients and the public in the short and long term. We will achieve this by empowering the public to make lifestyle adjustments to reduce the risk of cancer, awareness of early signs and symptoms and seeking medical advice. We will continue to support the fight on all types of cancer, across all age groups, emphasizing areas in which we believe have significant life-saving potential.

Our progress is dependent on the outstanding individuals and teams who conduct awareness programmes across the country. It is their curiosity and passion that will ultimately lead us to the answers we need to beat this disease.  As we have embarked on this project in the community, we have been struck by the sense of excitement and optimism, which spans those directly involved in the fight against cancer. While no one underestimates the challenges and barriers we have yet to overcome, there is an overriding belief that the next several years can, and will, transform the outlook for cancer patients in Zimbabwe.

We could not achieve anything without the generosity of our donors and the dedication of the trustees who selflessly participate in this worthy cause. They make the extraordinary possible and enable us to have belief in our vision of bringing forward the day when our nation becomes cancer free.

Our Goals

  1. Hosting cancer awareness programmes and testing campaigns on site, educating and empowering people on screening for early detection and prevention of cancer.
  2. To support cancer patients undergoing treatment or on palliative care by providing much needed home based care information resources, medical supplies for example ostomy bags, catheters , gloves , dressings etc
  3. Establish an inpatient unit where patients can be admitted for respite, symptom management and end of life care in a serene environment with open visiting times to close family members or loved ones.
  4. We aim to have a home visiting service by our palliative team or community based health care providers to assess the need for in-patient care services or change in care strategies.
  5. Set up an Equipment Loan Service for equipment such as beds, mattresses, commodes, walking aides etc. When required patients may borrow these as necessary.

Please donate to the this project and help make a difference to cancer patient’s and their families
